President Trump Warned by Wisconsin Officials to Stay Away Prior to Kenosha Visit

President Trump is set to visit Kenosha, Wisconsin following the shooting of Jacob Blake. The incident sparked violent protests not only within the city, but across the nation. In Kenosha alone, at least 175 demonstrators were arrested with 102 of those listed as residents from 44 other cities. The president said he would visit tomorrow to inspect the damage done to several vandalized businesses and cars or buildings that were set ablaze. The president also intends to meet with local law enforcement.
However, Hovernor Tony Evers has warned he may not be welcomed in the city right now, saying “I am concerned your presence will only hinder our healing.” Other state officials have issued similar doubts. Jacob Blake’s father also said a week “is too late” for the president to reach out. Despite this, a White House spokesman confirmed “President Trump looks forward to visiting and helping this great city heal and rebuild.”
