President Trump Accepts Renomination in Final Night of RNC
In the fourth and final night of the Republican National Convention, President Trump officially accepted his renomination. Over 1,000 people gathered in front of the South Portico steps of the White House to hear the president’s speech which ended up becoming one of the longest ever delivered in U.S. history. During his time, he continued to attack opponent Joe Biden by saying “no one will be safe” in his America. The president also touted his accomplishments, such as the booming economy before the pandemic and claiming he’s done more for African Americans than any president since Abraham Lincoln. President Trump’s biggest promise of the night came when he addressed the current health crisis. He said his administration’s efforts to combat the coronavirus were based on “the science, the facts and the data” and reassured there would be a vaccine by the end of the year. The president further added, in response to recent protests, that “the crime and violence that today afflicts our nation will soon come to an end.”
