CDC Releases New Sudden, Contradictory Covid-19 Guidance
Sudden new federal guidelines from the CDC has left many extremely confused. They are now saying that those without Covid-19 symptoms do not need to be tested, even if they’ve come into close contact with someone who is or was known to have the virus. This is in direct contradiction to previous advice which not only said testing in such cases was appropriate, but necessary to prevent further spread. Many health experts say the new change makes “no sense” and claim those who are asymptomatic are “exactly the people who should be tested.” Following the announcement, a federal health official confirmed the new guidelines were made as a direct result of pressure from the Trump Administration, who said they wanted more “appropriate testing” to be conducted. Doctor Anthony Fauci also revealed he knew of the proposed guidance but was in surgery and not part of the coronavirus task force meeting when the decision was finalized.
