Lori Loughlin, Husband Face Sentencing Today in College Admissions Scandal

Lori Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli will officially be sentenced today as part of the college admissions scandal. The couple was accused of bribing school officials in order to benefit their daughters and initially pled not guilty to charges of money laundering and conspiracy. Eventually, as part of a plea deal, Giannulli pled guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud and to honest services wire and mail fraud. In a virtual hearing held this morning, he was sentenced to five months in prison. He also agreed to pay a $250,000 fine, committed to 250 hours of community service and two years of supervised release. Loughlin’s hearing is scheduled for 2:30 today. She has pled guilty to only one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud in the deal. Federal prosecutors have requested she face a two-month prison sentence, pay a $150,000 fine, and do 100 hours of community service along with two years of supervised release. It’s been debated for months whether or not their children, Olivia Jade and Isabella, should be sentenced. According to one legal expert, the girls were “absolutely complicit” and should also face legal consequences.
