CDC Predicts 200,000 Americans Lives Lost Due to Covid-19 By Labor Day
The CDC is now predicting the U.S. coronavirus death toll could hit 200,000 by Labor Day. This latest prediction comes as schools have begun to reopen. Globally, there have been over 20.9 million people infected with Covid-19 and over 753,000 fatalities. The U.S. remains to be the worst impacted country in the world with more than 5.2 million diagnosed cases and at least 167,000 deaths. With at least 50,000 new cases and an average of 1,000 deaths reported daily, and still no national consensus on how to battle the virus, the CDC does not remain hopeful. There has been talks that herd immunity might come into play before the long-awaited vaccine is developed. However, Dr. Anthony Fauci says in order for that to happen, 70% TO 90% of the population must contract it. This could have seriously devastating consequences on the population and lead to massive death tolls.
