Man Arrested, Charged in Deadly Shooting Over Dog Dispute

A verbal dispute over a dog in Robeson County led to a deadly shooting yesterday morning. The incident occurred in the 2900 block of Highway 710 North. The suspect, 26-year-old Christopher Brayboy reportedly shot 41-year-old Mark Lowery over the argument. Lowry then later died from his injuries. After several hours, Brayboy was apprehended during a traffic stop in Pembroke. He was charged with first-degree murder, possession of a weapon by convicted felon and possession of a scheduled I controlled substance. He was granted a $60,000 secured bond for the firearm and drug offenses, but no bond for the murder charge.
