Horry County Schools Board Sends Reopening Plan to State for Approval

The Horry County Schools Board voted yesterday to send their reopening plans to the state for approval. The full plan is 51 pages. The amount of cases on August 31st will determine how schools will proceed with reopening on September 8th. Parents who choose in-person instruction for their children must pre-screen their kids every morning before school. HCS has also decided to provide masks with clear mouth coverings for younger students and will implement more cleaning resources in classrooms. Water fountains will also be turned off. Now the board is just awaiting approval from the state. Furthermore, fall athletic team training and conditioning for Horry County schools will resume today. They’ll be divided into small groups and athletes will be required to wear face coverings when not actively training.
