Republican, Democratic National Conventions Approaching Fast
The Republican and Democratic National Conventions are approaching fast and here’s what you need to know. President Trump has decided to accept his nomination in a scaled down event in North Carolina. However, it’s unclear if reporters will be allowed to attend in person. A spokesman recently said “no final decision has been made” yet, citing North Carolina’s coronavirus health restrictions on crowds as the reason why it was even being considered. If approved, the event will most likely be live streamed and prove to be an unprecedented move in modern political history.
Meanwhile, former Vice President Joe Biden is expected to announce his vice president pick sometime this week. Biden already committed to selecting a female VP months ago and in light of recent protests, will most likely choose a candidate of color. Now the nation is anxiously awaiting to hear his decision. It’s believed among those on the short list are Senator Kamala Harris and Representative Karen Bass.
