WiFi Hot Spots Secured for South Carolina Students

nce many schools are opting for virtual learning this year, South Carolina students need access to e-learning. The state is working on a way for children in rural areas to be able to connect to the internet. 400,000 students in the state don’t have it and so far, 200,000 wifi hotspots have been secured for those students to use during next school year with more to come. School districts can also secure funding to help low income families pay for monthly internet services. SC lawmakers designated $50 million specifically to broadband access. School districts are also getting $200 million that they can use to purchase additional devices.
