U.S. Hits 4 Million Cases and Experts Urge for Another Shutdown
The CDC now says the corona virus will end up as a top 10 leading cause of death in 2020. This, as we surpass another grim milestone in the U.S. with more than 4-million that have tested positive. The case count has jumped by 1 million in just 15 days and data compiled by Johns Hopkins University also says at least 143,820 have died from covid-19. With the rising daily rates of confirmed cases and hospitalizations, more than 150 medical experts, scientists, teachers, nurses and others have signed a letter to political leaders urging them to shut down the country and start over to contain the pandemic. States across the country are struggling with local outbreaks. A judge in Starr county, Texas has issued another shelter-at-home order that went into effect this morning until August 11th and in New Mexico, Hawaii and Missouri there’s been records broken for new daily cases.
