Over 940 U.S. Covid-19 Deaths Reported in One Day

The U.S. broke yet another coronavirus record as health officials warn that hospitalizations are getting out of control. According to Johns Hopkins University 77,255 new cases were reported across the country yesterday with 943 deaths. Within 24 hours, the Florida department of health reported 156 new deaths, which is the most yet in a single day. In total, 8,626 people are currently hospitalized across the state. In Miami, the mayor said hospitals have reached 95% capacity and claims the demographic with the highest infection rate is people between ages 18 and 34. One doctor in Texas has reported patients waiting on stretchers for up to ten hours before being examined due to a lack of resources. Texas along with Arizona also reported that morgues are filling up in some of the hardest hit areas. Meanwhile the the CDC is extending its no sail order for cruise ships through September 30th. It applies to vessels with 250 or more people that are in U.S. waters. The CDC says covid-19 has affected about 80-percent of ships in just under five months.
