Extraordinary Events Declared Every Weekend in Myrtle Beach Through Sept. 6th
Myrtle Beach City Council leaders have declared every weekend through September 6th as “extraordinary events”. This will allow local police to temporarily shut down businesses if it’s determined their operating poses a public safety risk. This would only affect businesses which have already been warned. It also allows the police to impost a curfew. The city manager’s authority during extraordinary events was also expanded and will allow for temporary closure of businesses if they continually fail to adhere to pandemic safety guidelines.
