Michael Cohen Back in Prison After Alleged Early Release Violation

Michael Cohen is back in custody after violating terms of his early release. President Trump’s former personal attorney was initially released early on May 21st due to coronavirus concerns. He was “placed on furlough pending placement on home confinement.” However, after continually trying to negotiate the terms of his release and even refusing to sign off on certain conditions of said confinement, parole officials decided the discussions were over. Cohen is now back in prison at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. Cohen’s lawyer rejects the claims his client is being accused of right now, saying Cohen didn’t refuse the terms or decline to sign anything. He further added Cohen wasn’t even given a pen. His lawyer also reported Cohen has been told not to engage with any sort of media at this time, including the release of his supposed tell-all book which is rumored to be close to completion. Cohen’s expected release is currently set for November 2021.
