“Glee” Actress Naya River Presumed Dead From Drowning

The search mission for “Glee” actress Naya Rivera has now turned into a recovery mission as authorities presume she is deceased. Newly released security footage shows 33-year-old Rivera and her 4-year-old son went to Lake Piru in Southern California Wednesday afternoon and rented a pontoon boat. They were due back at the docks around 4 p.m., but never returned. It wasn’t until a rental employee spotted their boat floating in the middle of the lake, containing only Rivera’s son, did they alert the authorities. The boy was wearing a life jacket and an adult life jacket was also found on board. The search quickly turned into a recovery mission after law enforcement interviewed Rivera’s son. It’s reported he told them they went swimming and his mother never got back in the boat. As a result it’s strongly believed she drowned. However, it’s very hard to conduct a search of the lake which has very low visibility with tons of plants littering the floor. According to a Ventura County Sheriff’s Sargent, “if the body is entangled in something beneath the water, it may never come back up.”
