Dr. Fauci Very Concerned Over Recent Surge in U.S. Coronavirus Cases
Referring to COVID-19, Dr. Anthony Fauci said “we are still knee-deep in the first wave of this” citing the rise in cases as a surge. More than 129,000 Americans have died with almost 3 million confirmed cases. While almost every state is reporting increases, at least 32 states are seeing higher rates of new cases this week compared to last, this according to Johns Hopkins University data. LA county alone has reported more cases than 44 states. The Dean of Tropical Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine said the spread has gotten so out of control, contact tracing is no longer possible. With more than 206,000 cases and over 3,700 deaths, the situation in Florida has become so bad that County Mayor Carlos Gimenez has ordered Miami-Dade to shut down again. Restaurants, party venues, fitness centers, short-term rentals and more will be forced to re-close. Mask and social distancing orders will also be reinforced.
