Unidentified Remains Found In Case of Missing Fort Hood Soldier

Unidentified remains have been found as part of the search for the Fort Hood soldier who has been missing for months. 20-year-old Vanessa Guillen was last seen April 22nd. Investigators discovered her car keys, ID, wallet and barracks room key left behind in the armory room where she worked a day earlier. Volunteers, the FBI, soldiers and other law enforcement agencies all combined efforts in the search, and even offered a $25,000 reward for information on her whereabouts. However, Guillen’s family has accused investigators of not doing enough. They strongly believed foul play was involved, especially since Guillen was victim to numerous sexual harassment incidents on the bases she reported to. Yesterday, army officials reported while searching in an area near the Texas military installation, they discovered human remains buried in a shallow grave. They have not yet been identified but the area where the remains were found was considered “an area of interest” in connection to her disappearance.
