Dr. Anthony Fauci Urges U.S. Leaders to Enforce Mask Mandates

Once again, the U.S. reported another record-breaking single-day increases of COVID-19 cases yesterday. Eight states in total saw all-time highs. California broke their highest case numbers three times in less than a week. Yesterday they saw over 8,000 cases, completely shattering their previous record of about 6,000. In the U.S., a total of almost 2.6 million cases and almost 127,000 deaths have been confirmed. Currently, around 40,000 plus new cases are recorded a day. Dr. Anthony Fauci has issued yet another grave warning if state leaders do not to take crucial actions such as mandating masks, we could see upwards of 100,000 new cases a day. It appears that heavy caution is now being heeded by many Republican leaders who previously denounced the use of face masks. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell made an official statement saying, “We must have no stigma, none, about wearing masks. It’s not about protecting ourselves, it is about protecting everyone we encounter.” Vice President Pence has also advocated for the practice. Despite all this, it appears President Trump is still refusing to wear them.
