As SC Coronavirus Cases Mount, Cities May Mandate Wearing Masks
South Carolina once again reported another record breaking number of COVID-19 cases in a single day earlier this week. The statewide total is now 27,842 confirmed cases and 683 deaths. DHEC said we are reaching a “critical juncture” if precautionary actions continue to be ignored. It’s been reported South Carolinians in particular are ignoring mask recommendations. If these disturbing trends continue, the suggestion might become a mandate. The South Carolina Attorney General has already agreed individual cities can lawfully pass these types of ordinances in the interest of public health.
