Trump Tulsa Rally Produced Lower Than Expected Attendance Numbers

It’s reported the Trump Tulsa rally over the weekend had an extremely disappointing turn out. The Trump Campaign reported more than a million people registered for the event. Organizers were bracing themselves for a crowd upwards of 100,000 people in a venue built to hold 20,000. An outdoor stage was also erected in anticipation for the overflow. The large number of attendees was a huge concern for city leaders and health officials, especially since they’re currently experiencing an up tick in COVID-19 cases. However, the Tulsa Fire Department reported a crowd of about 6,200 people showed up. The reasons behind the turn out could be due to several factors. For starters, just prior to the event, six staffers tested positive for COVID-19. The senior adviser for the Trump-Pence Campaign also said anti-protesters played a large role in deterring supporters. And while this has been adamantly denied by the president, it’s been reported teenage activists skewed the attendance numbers by registering for the event with no intentions of actually showing up.
