U.S. Coronavirus Cases Now Rapidly Increasing in 23 States
Pressure has increased on local leaders to take action as coronavirus spikes continue in 23 states now. California Governor Gavin Newsom announced a new statewide mandate that requires all residents to wear face coverings while out in public and in indoors. Oregon’s governor has announced similar restrictions for hot spot counties. The same decrees may also be issued in North Carolina and Arizona. Florida remains most vulnerable to becoming the next epicenter of the outbreak reporting almost 4,000 cases today, surpassing yesterday’s previous record of just over 3,200 cases. Oklahoma is also experiencing an increase in cases but despite this, the Trump rally in Tulsa is still set to take place. It’s reported temperature checks will be done, and hand sanitizer and masks provided. However, masks are not required. Everyone who attends is advised to get a COVID-19 test before and after the event. Tulsa has declared a civil emergency and enacted a strict curfew in the area of the rally. Anyone breaking curfew may be subject to arrest tomorrow.
