Petition Calls For Horry County Schools to Actively Denounce Racism

A new petition is demanding all Horry County schools “publicly denounce racism”. A Carolina Forest High School alum who is now a preschool teacher in California started the petition. She said she’s seen first hand how institutionalized racism has affected our society and thought she might be able to make a difference. She is also calling for anti-racism curriculum and black history to be implemented into the county’s school system. She has also made the demand for more people of color to be added to the school board.
