200,000 Americans Predicted to Die From Coronavirus by October
A second wave of the coronavirus in the U.S. is all but inevitable, this according to health experts. A new model released by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington has now predicted 200,000 Americans will die from the coronavirus by October 1st. This is yet again another shocking prediction released by experts as more states in the U.S. continue to reopen. Though many are starting to see improvement, or at least report stagnant numbers, there are still at least 18 states seeing rapidly increasing infections and hospitalizations. Furthermore, the FDA has just now revoked emergency authorization use of the drugs chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine. It’s been determined while the two drugs are generally safe for things such as malaria and autoimmune disease, they are ineffective in treating COVID-19, especially since they come with a plethora of harsh side effects.
