President Trump Moves RNC to Florida, Announces New Rallies
President Trump has officially decided to move the Republican National Convention to Jacksonville, Florida. This comes after he continuously voiced his disapproval against North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper after he could not promise a full venue due to safety concerns over the pandemic. But because the party signed a contract, they are still obligated to hold some portion of the event there. This year’s convention will prove to be unlike any other as delegates elect the president in one state, and he accepts the nomination in another. The president has also pressed forward with resuming his campaign rallies. His first one will take place in Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 19th. While many are excited for his return, others are extremely concerned over the chosen place and date. June 19th happens to coincide with Juneteenth, the holiday commemorating the end of slavery. Tulsa also happens to be the location of the worst racially motivated massacre in U.S. history.
