Health Emergency Declaration Extended for Horry County

Due to the rise in COVID-19 cases statewide, Horry County has extended its emergency declaration yet again. Mayor Brenda Bethune signed the extension yesterday and it will be valid for the next 30 days. No businesses will be closed and no new restrictions will be enacted. Furthermore, there will also not be any prohibitions on travel. It does acknowledge we are still in a health emergency and precautions must be taken. This comes as South Carolina recorded another record-breaking single-day increase in cases. None of this new information appears to deter tourists from visiting the Grand Strand area, however.
