Parents Suing Myrtle Beach Hotel After Child Drowned

Parents are suing a Myrtle Beach hotel after their 11-year-old drowned in their pool. Trenton Piper was on vacation with his family from Ohio in June of last year when he drowned at the Beach Colony Resort’s indoor pool. Ramses Piper and Tiffany Phillips have now filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the resort, claiming the hotel was negligent because they failed to properly monitor their pool area which created unsafe and even dangerous conditions. They believe they are entitled to punitive damages for their pain and suffering, mental and emotional distress, medical bills and funeral expenses.
