NASCAR Bans Confederate Flags From All Future Races, Events

NASCAR has officially banned confederate flags from all their races and events moving forward. This comes after Bubba Wallace, the only full-time African American driver in NASCAR’s Cup Series, publicly made the demand earlier this week. NASCAR’s official statement said, “For us to heal and move forward as a nation, we all need to listen more and be united in the stand against racism, hatred and senseless violence and loss of life.” While many applauded the decision, driver Ray Ciccarelli said after he completes this season, he will not be returning.
