2020 Election: Recent Polls Suggest President Trump Falling Behind Joe Biden

Five states are participating in primary elections today. This includes Nevada, North Dakota, and South Carolina. Georgia and West Virginia’s primaries were both postponed to today as a result of the pandemic. A poll over the weekend projected former vice president Joe Biden has officially secured the democratic presidential nomination, especially after June 2nd’s round of primaries that included 8 states and the District of Columbia. Biden either won or is projected to win all of them. Still, this round of primaries will be important in determining the numerous House and Senate seats still up for grabs. And as we approach the 2020 election, a recent poll has indicated Biden holds a 14-point lead over President Trump. Another poll also suggested the president’s approval rating has dropped by 7 points to 38%. His disapproval rating also jumped from 51 to 57%. President Trump was quick to tweet “CNN polls are fake” and continues to maintain his numbers.
