Woman Accused of Killing Step Son Planned to Escape Prison

The woman who is accused of killing her 11-year-old step son planned to escape from prison. Letecia Stauch is awaiting trial in Colorado after being arrested in Myrtle Beach for the murder of Gannon Stauch. Another inmate reported to El Paso County Sheriff’s Office deputies that Leticia had given her coded letters detailing her plan to escape by breaking her prison window with a broom handle and was looking for help. The inmate turned her in because she did not want to get caught doing “something stupid”. Leticia was moved to another cell in the medical section.
