Peaceful Protests for George Floyd Continue Today in Florence

The protest in Florence yesterday was attended by over 1,500 people. NFL player Darius Leonard was among those in attendance. He said, “This is one thing you can do, get out and show that you care, get out and protest because if you stay silent you’re saying something.” There were concerns the protest might turn into a riot and businesses may be looted or destroyed, however none of that occurred. The protests in Florence resumed at noon today on Oak Street in East Florence.
