Videos of Police Officers Acting Violent Towards Protesters Go Viral

As the protests and riots ensue, footage of police officers seeming to act in unruly and violent ways have gone viral. We would like to warn you that some of the images we’re about to show may be graphic. In New York, footage captured shows a New York City Police Department van running over a small crowd of protesters. The truck was surrounded by people holding a barricade against the front of the car as they screamed and threw water bottles. The truck then accelerates into the barricade, knocking dozens to the ground. The incident is now under investigation. In Atlanta, two officers were fired and three assigned to desk duty after they were caught on camera using extreme and excessive force on two college students during an arrest. Similar scenes have been captured across the country of officers pushing protesters to the ground, throwing tear gas at peaceful crowds, and even firing rubber bullets at people clearly marked as press.
