Semitrailer Speeds into Crowd Full of Minneapolis Protesters

While chaos ensued in DC, in Minneapolis, where this all began, a semitrailer sped into a crowd full of protesters. The driver, Bogdan Vechirko, was seen on video barreling into a crowd of about 6,000 protesters on the I-35W bridge. They can be seen scrambling to get out of the way in time before the semitrailer comes to a stop in the middle of the crowd. The truck was immediately swarmed by protesters who dragged Vechirko out of the cabin of the vehicle, smashed the windshield, and beat him. The driver was arrested on the spot.  No one was seriously injured or killed. Vechirko also was not seriously hurt but was taken to a hospital for treatment. It’s unclear how the semi got onto the highway in the first place since officials from the twin cities in Minneapolis and St. Paul has ordered the highway to close at 5 PM. It’s also unclear at this time if the driver’s actions were made deliberately.
