Myrtle Beach City Leaders Met Yesterday to Discuss Recent Shootings

Mbcmeeting

Yesterday’s Myrtle Beach City Council meeting which lasted half a day largely discussed the recent crime in the area. Four shootings occurred in ten days, most of them gang-related, and three along Ocean Boulevard alone. All twelve perpetrators were quickly apprehended but the incidences really upset the community. One person suggested not enough was being done to keep the city safe, however Mayor Brenda Bethune said more resources are being put into fighting crime than ever before and that crime has actually decreased over the years. She added the perpetrators were also not local residents.
