Man Who Recorded Video of Ahmaud Arbery’s Death Was Arrested

The man who recorded the fatal shooting of Ahmaud Arbery was arrested last night on suspicion of murder. 50-year-old William “Roddie” Bryan Jr. is charged with felony murder and criminal attempt to commit false imprisonment. Bryan was neighbors with 56-year-old Gregory McMichael and his son 34-year-old Travis who chased down and killed Arbery while he was going for a jog in their Georgia neighborhood. It’s reported Bryan’s reasoning behind his involvement and motives has changed multiple times since the video he recorded was released. Bryan maintains he is innocent however, news of his arrest comes as a relief to many who believe he is just as guilty as the McMichaels. An attorney hired by Arbery’s mother said “If he was a good Samaritan, he would have honked his horn. He doesn’t even flinch. He doesn’t gasp. He simply takes it all in…Why would you video tape it? Why didn’t he do anything to help? Why didn’t he reach out right after?”
