5 Million People Have Contracted COVID-19 Worldwide

Five million people have contracted COVID-19 and 330,000 have died worldwide. The World Health Organization also reported yesterday was the worst single-day increase in cases since the outbreak began and the U.S. made up for about half of it. 1.5 million cases and almost 92,000 deaths have been reported in the U.S. but these numbers may be misleading. In recent days, infection spread and testing data has proven to be disorganized in the U.S. At least four states have been combining results from viral tests and antibody tests which presents misleading information to the public. These states include Virginia, Texas, Georgia, and Vermont. Three of them have admitted to the data issue and made strides to fix it. In Georgia, officials have been justifying their reasoning behind their different approach to reporting.
