5-Year-Old Accidentally Killed 12-Year-Old Brother With Gun They Found in Woods

A 5-year-old Georgia boy accidentally shot and killed his 12-year-old brother. The two were playing in a wooded area behind their home in Griffin when they found a gun. The boys, thinking it was a toy, picked it up and began to play with it. The 5-year-old aimed the gun at his brother’s chest and fired. The 12-year-old was transported to a hospital where he later died from his injuries. The Griffin Police Department has now said they will “leave no stone unturned” as they shift their focus towards finding the suspect or suspects who discarded the gun in the woods. Hours prior to the incident, police were searching for suspects who had fled a traffic stop in the same area. They found drugs but no weapons during their search. It’s reported the suspected driver of the vehicle has been interviewed and gave police “information relevant to the investigation”.
