Supreme Court, Senate Hold Hearings Today Concerning President Trump

Today will prove to be an intense day for President Trump as he faces multiple legal hearings. The Supreme Court will hear three cases today concerning possible exploitation of separation of powers. Allegations of the president’s misconduct prior to entering office led to subpoenas on his accountants and banks. The president tried to block the subpoenas in lower courts and lost. That’s why the case is being presented before the Supreme Court which is currently split between five conservative justices and four liberals. Their decision today could impact how much immunity a sitting president can hold. Furthermore, the Senate will host virtual hearings today with four of the top doctors on President Trump’s coronavirus task force. This includes Dr. Anthony Fauci who is set to testify on how President Trump has responded to the pandemic. Joining him is director of the CDC Dr. Robert Redfield, FDA Commissioner Dr. Stephen Hahn, and the Assistant Secretary for Health, Admiral Brett Giroir.
