Suspect Arrested, Charged After Leading Florence County Police on Car Chase

The suspect who led Florence County Police on a 22-minute car chase has been detained and charged. 27-year-old Markuell Moore reportedly failed to pull over for a traffic stop which led to the chase. He hit two deputies head-on while driving from Florence to Darlington County and back again. He was finally apprehended at the intersection of Parker Drive and S. Cashua Drive. Upon a search of his vehicle, it was discovered that Moore, a prohibited felon, had a loaded AR-15 and a “large amount of drugs”. He was arrested and charged with failure to stop for blue lights, driving under suspension, driving without a license and unlawful use of license plate. Luckily, no serious injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
