DOJ Drops Case Against Michael Flynn

The Justice Department has dropped their criminal case against Michael Flynn. President Trump’s first National Security Adviser lied to the FBI about his ties to Russia during the 2016 election which led the president to fire him three years ago. Flynn also played a large role in Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation after he agreed to cooperate and pled guilty. For over two years the Justice Department heavily pursued and defended its prosecution of Flynn. That is until yesterday when they filed a 20-page reversal narrative, claiming newly disclosed and declassified records in regards to Flynn’s case. The sudden request to drop the case will have to be approved by federal court. This all came as a surprise to the White House who were not briefed prior to. President Trump said on Twitter, “Yesterday was a big day for justice in the USA. Congratulations to General Flynn, and many others. I do believe there is much more to come! Dirty cops and crooked politicians do not go well together!”
