New Data Reports on U.S. Economy Reveal Grim Numbers

New data on the U.S. economy is set to be released and could reveal numbers comparable to the 1930’s Great Depression. As a result of the worst health crisis in over 100 years, almost 75,000 people in the U.S. have died and more than 1.2 million have been infected. It’s also now reported around 33 million Americans have lost their jobs. Experts have told us to brace for the worst as another grim report is expected for tomorrow. They predict unemployment rates could be between 16% and 20%. The Great Depression saw an unemployment rate of almost 25% at its peak. This could also heavily impact the upcoming election. President Trump’s platform is heavily based on a booming economy and these new numbers could cast doubts in voters. Promises from the president saying the economy will rebound like a “rocket” also seem unlikely. Recovery from the 2008 economic downturn took us nearly ten years.
