White House Coronavirus Task Force to Pivot Their Primary Focus
President Trump announced yesterday that the White House coronavirus task force will be pivoting their agenda later this month. The plan is to “phase down” the task force some time around Memorial Day. To be clear, the initiative will not be eradicated and advisors such as Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Deborah Birx will remain on board. But they will change their focus more towards gradually and safely reopening. They will also largely focus on finding vaccines. The president acknowledged the U.S. COVID-19 death toll has exceeded his expectations and will continue to get worse, however he said, “We have to get our country back.” This news comes the same day New York reported an undisclosed 1,700 coronavirus-related deaths of nursing home residents. New evidence has also just surfaced suggesting both presymptomatic or asymptomatic individuals may be higher risks for transmitting to others.
