5-Year-Old Faces Life-Threatening Injuries After Accidental Shooting

A five-year-old Lumberton girl is facing life threatening injuries after suffering an accidental gunshot wound. Police, Robeson County EMS, Lumberton Rescue, and the Lumberton Fire Department were all called to the parking lot of Southeastern Dermatology on Fayetteville Road. Upon arrival, they found a family member and the unnamed five-year-old girl who had sustained a gunshot wound to her torso. They determined the girl somehow got a hold of the unsecured firearm which then accidentally discharged. She was flown to a hospital where she is believed to be in critical condition.
