Man Arrested for Pushing Park Ranger into Lake

Texas police are investigating an incident involving a man who pushed a park ranger into a lake. It occurred late last week at Commons Ford Ranch metro park. The entire moment was caught on camera as Park Ranger Cassidy Stillwell instructed a group of people “unlawfully drinking and smoking” to maintain social distancing. Mid-speech he was pushed into the lake he was standing in front of by another man. Stillwell was able to pull the assailant down with him, however he quickly jumped out of the water and ran away. It wasn’t long before 25-year-old Brandon Hicks was arrested. He is charged with attempted assault on a public servant and damage of city property. If convicted he could face up to 180 days in jail. Hicks’ lawyer has said his client “is embarrassed about his actions and has the utmost respect for law enforcement, particularly during these unprecedented times.”
