Local Places to Stay Active on the Grand Strand

If you want to get outdoors but need a change of scenery, there are some local places that are open where you can enjoy the weather while continuing to social distance.
Though interior spaces are closed and public programs are postponed, Brookgreen Gardens’ outdoor spaces remain open. Brookgreen is currently offering discounted tickets and the passes are good for one week but they must be purchased in advance.
Tyler’s Produce, a you-pick strawberry farm off highway 378 in the Conway area is open for outdoor picking. Monday through Saturday they’re open from 8:00am to 7:00pm and Sunday from 8 to 5. Bellamy Farms and Holmes Farms Produce, both in Loris, are also open.
Plenty of parks are open for public use. Grand Park in the Market Common district is available for walking, jogging or biking. There’s also the cherry grove oceanfront park in North Myrtle Beach and Cox Ferry Lake Recreation Area in Conway.
Vereen Memorial Gardens is another place to check out. The park features multiple hiking trails and wooden boardwalks that extend across marshes and small islands, with a gazebo that overlooks the Intracoastal Waterway.
