President’s Comments Lead to Dire Warnings: Do Not Ingest Cleaning Products

Many people are outraged following comments President Trump made in regards to potential cures against the coronavirus. The president was quoted in a press briefing yesterday saying, “I see the disinfectant where it knocks it out in one minute. Is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside or almost a cleaning.” He further added, “There’s been a rumor that you go outside in the sun or you have heat and it does have an effect on other viruses.” While the president was quick to remind the public he is not a doctor, and these were simply possibilities being looked into, it still garnered much disapproval and anger from many. The slightest suggestions of ingesting disinfectants or other cleaning products has forced multiple companies and even the food and drug administration to issue formal warnings against doing so. They would like to remind the public that human consumption of cleaning products can be extremely dangerous and could lead to death.
