CDC Coronavirus Predictions Worsen as Some States Reopen

The U.S. has seen a rise in coronavirus cases at nearly 820,600 with almost 46,000 deaths. An investigation in California revealed the earliest coronavirus-related death in the U.S. may have occurred prior to what was initially believed to be the first known death. Autopsies performed on two people who passed away in their homes, one as early as February 6th, confirmed they were the earliest known deaths, predating the original by almost three weeks. However, a delay in testing was due to the CDC’s strict criteria. It’s been predicted by CDC officials that a second and worse outbreak could occur this winter. It’s also believed the virus, coupled with the flu, will once again overwhelm our health care system. Furthermore, projected death rates for this summer have increased by at least 10%. This could largely be due to the fact that some states have irresponsibly begun to reopen their economies.
