The South Faces Yet Another Series of Severe Storms
Millions of people in the south are once again under severe tornado warnings. This comes less than a week after dozens of tornadoes traveled from Texas to North Carolina, some as strong as EF3’s. At least 32 people were killed, as well as hundreds of homes and buildings damaged or completely destroyed. It was a devastating blow, especially in the midst of the pandemic as first responders, health care workers, shelters, and more were already overwhelmed. So far, at least five tornadoes touched down yesterday in the southern plain region, from Texas to Mississippi. No deaths or major damage has been reported yet but at least 90,000 people were without power this morning. However, millions of people are wondering how they’ll move forward if more deadly storms hit as they’re still recovering from last week and resources are severely exhausted.
