Governor Issues Second State of Emergency for Tornado Damage

Governor McMaster has issued a second state of emergency following the deadly tornadoes this week. We are already in a state of emergency over the pandemic, however the governor said these tornadoes were some of the deadliest and most destructive the state has seen in 36 years. South Carolina was hit by five out of nine of the strongest tornadoes to tear through the south a few days ago. At least nine people died, and 900 homes damaged and 111 destroyed across 21 counties. It has made it necessary to issue the order a second time in order to receive an appropriate response.
