Police Crack Down on Governor McMaster’s Restrictions
South Carolina has reported over 3,500 confirmed coronavirus cases and almost 100 deaths. Myrtle Beach Police Chief Amy Prock would like to again remind local residents that the sooner we voluntarily adhere to social distancing orders and state restrictions, the sooner we can go back to normal. She said “for individuals who put their own wants and needs above the safety of others and willfully disobey the orders, we will take enforcement action.” Previously warnings and citations were given, but now, anyone convicted of violating the orders will automatically receive a $100 dollar fine, spend up to 30 days in jail, or both.
