COVID-19 Restriction Protest in North Carolina Ends With Arrest

A coronavirus protest in Raleigh, North Carolina yesterday ended in one arrest. More than 100 people gathered outside the state assembly armed with posters and chants. They demanded Governor Roy Cooper relax statewide COVID-19 restrictions. At least one person was arrested after the crowd refused to disperse despite receiving three warnings. Cooper said, “we continue to see the spread of the virus accelerate…but at a much slower pace because people are following the executive orders” and therefore will not relax any restrictions.
