At Least Ten Dead After Tornadoes Hit Carolinas

At least nine people in South Carolina and one in North Carolina have died as a result of the tornadoes yesterday. Governor McMaster said the damage done by these tornadoes was “horrendous” as homes and other buildings were damaged or destroyed. It’s been reported by the National Weather Service that at least two EF1 and EF2 tornadoes touched down between 4 AM and 10 AM. Several EF3 tornadoes may also have hit Barnwell, Orangeburg and Calhoun Counties. McMaster confirmed the challenge of battling the pandemic and recovering from the storms at the same time will prove to be difficult.
